Malmköping - a pleasant trading town with lots of history.

This is where the Södermanland Regiment was posted between 1774 and 1921. The borough has been a natural meeting place with markets ever since.

The old market, Malmamarken, evenings at the town market square and the farmers’ market attract many visitors. You will find many small places of accommoda- tion, shops, cafés and restaurants. It was in Malmköping where the 100-year-old Allan Karlsson, from the book, climbed out of the window and disappeared. The charming old homestead has a tourist office open during the summer months, a candle barn, a textile museum and other small museums. In winter, the fine Malmabacken facility provi- des good downhill skiing.
